Introducing the Bombardier Global 8000 Jet
The Global 8000 is the flagship of Bombardier's Global family, which also includes the Global 5500, 6500 and 7500. Bombardier describes it as the world's fastest business jet and the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde, with a top speed of Mach 0.95.
It is built for very long trips: city pairs that span oceans, flown nonstop, with a cabin designed for passengers to rest on the way.
History and development of Bombardier Global 8000 Jet
Bombardier announced the Global 7000 and Global 8000 in October 2010. The Global 8000 was first planned as a shorter, three-zone jet that traded cabin space for range.
In May 2022, Bombardier relaunched it as a longer-range version of the Global 7500, with the same four-zone cabin length. A modified test aircraft reached Mach 1.015 in a supersonic test flight in May 2021, and the first Global 8000 prototype made its maiden flight in May 2023. The first aircraft was delivered in December 2025, and the type entered service on December 8, 2025.

Cabin layout and design
The cabin has four separate living spaces of equal size.
The Nuage seat, developed by Bombardier for this family, took seven years to design. Bombardier describes it as the first new seat architecture in 30 years, with a zero-gravity reclining position.
Avionics and technology
The flight deck uses fly-by-wire flight controls, with a system architecture based on that of the CSeries airliner. Bombardier also highlights its crew rest area and cockpit space.
For passengers, the Soleil lighting system simulates daylight in step with the flight plan to help reduce jet lag, and the Pũr Air system uses a HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter to clean the cabin air.
Powerplant and engine specifications
Two General Electric Passport 20 turbofans power the Global 8000, each producing 18,920 pounds of thrust. The Passport offers reduced NOx emissions and better fuel efficiency than the engines on the earlier Global Express XRS.
Performance and Range of Bombardier Global 8000 Jet

Maximum range and speed of the Global 8000 Jet
The 8,000-nautical-mile range is a theoretical figure with eight passengers and four crew, at Mach 0.85 with NBAA IFR reserves. Its high-speed cruise is Mach 0.90, its ultra-high-speed cruise is Mach 0.92 and its top speed is Mach 0.95.
Bombardier also says the Smooth Flĕx Wing, with leading-edge slats, lets the Global 8000 use 30 percent more airports than its closest competitor. Actual nonstop range on any trip depends on passengers, bags, weather and winds, so the operator confirms each route.
Safety and Comfort Features of Bombardier Global 8000 Jet
Flight deck and safety technology
The Global 8000 combines fly-by-wire controls with what Bombardier calls advanced automation. Ask the operator about the specific systems on the aircraft you charter.
Cabin comfort features including seating and entertainment systems
The low cabin altitude is the comfort feature you notice most on a long flight. At 41,000 feet the cabin is pressurized to 2,691 feet, which Bombardier says is the lowest in the industry. Combined with the Nuage seats, Soleil lighting and Pũr Air filtration, the cabin is designed to help you arrive rested.
Chartering a Global 8000 with BLADE
BLADE arranges private jet charters, including ultra-long-range jets, through licensed operators. All BLADE flights in the United States are operated by FAA-licensed carriers. The Global 8000 is a new aircraft, so availability on the charter market may be limited. Tell BLADE your route, date and group size, and compare the aircraft available.
FAQs about What Is An Bombardier Global 8000 Jet?
What is a Bombardier Global 8000 jet?
It is Bombardier's flagship ultra-long-range business jet, with an 8,000-nautical-mile range and a top speed of Mach 0.95.
How many passengers can the Bombardier Global 8000 jet accommodate?
Up to 19 passengers, depending on the cabin layout.
What is the ride quality of the Bombardier Global 8000 jet?
Bombardier says its Smooth Flĕx Wing works like a shock absorber to dampen turbulence. The low cabin altitude of 2,691 feet at 41,000 feet also makes long flights less tiring.
What are the Bombardier Global 8000 jet's technical specifications?
Range 8,000 nautical miles, top speed Mach 0.95, cabin 6 ft 2 in high, 8 ft 0 in wide and 54 ft 5 in long, and two GE Passport 20 engines rated at 18,920 pounds of thrust each.
What are the Bombardier Global 8000 jet's standout features?
Its speed, its range, its four-zone cabin and its low cabin altitude.
What is the price of a Bombardier Global 8000 jet?
In 2023, its equipped price was $81 million. Charter prices depend on the route, the date and the operator.
