Introduction
The Dassault Falcon 7X is a three-engine business jet built by Dassault Aviation for long-range flights with a large cabin. It was unveiled at the 2001 Paris Air Show, first flew on May 5, 2005, and entered service on June 15, 2007.
The 7X received type certification from both the FAA and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on April 27, 2007. Dassault delivered the 100th aircraft in November 2010, and 289 had been built by early 2020. Its successor, the Falcon 8X, is derived from the 7X and adds range through engine improvements, aerodynamic refinements and more fuel.
Features and Performance of Dassault Falcon 7X

Engine Design
The 7X is a trijet. Three Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A turbofans are mounted at the rear, two on the sides of the fuselage and one in the center. Each produces 6,402 pounds of thrust.
The 7X was also the first production Falcon with winglets. Dassault says it was the first aircraft designed entirely on a virtual platform, using Dassault Systèmes' CATIA software.
Range and Speed
| Specification | Falcon 7X |
|---|---|
| Range | 5,950 nm (8 passengers) |
| Engines | 3 x P&WC PW307A, 6,402 lbf thrust each |
| Passengers | 12 to 16 |
| Cabin width / headroom | 7.67 ft / 6.17 ft |
| Flight controls | Fly-by-wire |
A range of 5,950 nautical miles puts long international city pairs within nonstop reach. On May 2, 2014, Dassault set a speed record for the type with a flight from New York's Teterboro Airport to London City Airport in five hours and 54 minutes. As with any jet, passengers, bags, weather and winds decide what a specific aircraft can fly nonstop on the day.
Avionics and Cockpit
The Falcon 7X was the first fully fly-by-wire business jet. Its cockpit uses the Honeywell Primus Epic "Enhanced Avionics System" (EASy), the same suite used on the Falcon 900EX and the Falcon 2000EX.
Operations of Dassault Falcon 7X
Takeoff and Landing
In 2014, the 7X completed high-altitude airport tests at 14,500 feet in Daocheng, China.
Pilot Training
Pilots fly the 7X through its fly-by-wire controls and EASy cockpit. When you charter, the operator is responsible for crew qualification and training.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance programs depend on the operator and the aircraft's age and hours. When you charter, the operator handles maintenance.
Usage of Dassault Falcon 7X

Business Aviation
Companies and charter operators fly the 7X around the world. More than 260 had been delivered by March 2016, with large fleets in Europe and North America.
Government and Military
Some governments use the 7X for VIP transport. The Royal Australian Air Force, for example, has leased three Falcon 7X aircraft for VVIP missions.
Personal and Leisure
For private travelers, the 7X suits long trips with family or friends. The cabin is very quiet, below 50 dBA thanks to special engine mounts and cabin isolators, and some aircraft are fitted with a shower.
Conclusion
The Falcon 7X offers long range, a quiet cabin and a fly-by-wire flight deck. BLADE arranges private jet charters, including large-cabin jets like the Falcon 7X, through licensed operators. All BLADE flights in the United States are operated by FAA-licensed carriers. Share your route, date and group size, and compare the aircraft available.
